16-4-2025 – Aztec Network has unveiled StealthNote, an innovative messaging platform that harnesses cutting-edge cryptographic technology to facilitate anonymous communication whilst maintaining organisational accountability.
The platform, which employs sophisticated zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs), enables individuals to share sensitive information without compromising their identity, whilst simultaneously verifying their legitimate affiliation with specific organisations.
At its core, StealthNote cleverly utilises NoirLang circuits and ZK proofs to authenticate corporate email access through Google’s JWT (JSON Web Token) system, effectively creating a secure bridge between anonymity and credibility. This technological approach mirrors the elegant simplicity of age verification at a pub, where proving one’s eligibility doesn’t require divulging unnecessary personal details.
Aztec software developer Saleel Pichen highlighted the platform’s potential for corporate whistleblowing and information sharing, noting its particular utility for those seeking to disclose company information whilst maintaining personal security.
The initiative emerges from Aztec Network, a privacy-focused Layer 2 solution built atop the Ethereum blockchain, which secured £100 million in Series B funding from web3 venture capital firm a16z in 2022.
Whilst currently configured for Gmail integration, the development team has outlined ambitious expansion plans. Future updates promise to incorporate Microsoft and various Single Sign-On providers, alongside a Slack bridge feature. The roadmap extends to include verification capabilities for geographic-based memberships through partnerships with @ZKpassport and @AnonAadhaar, as well as email-specific authentication via @zkemail.
For workplace whistleblowers and corporate insiders, StealthNote represents a significant advancement in protected disclosure mechanisms, offering a technical solution to the longstanding challenge of balancing transparency with personal security in organisational contexts.
